Choral Arts
Core Choir
Love to sing? We are seeking all those who have a heart for worship and a desire to lead the church in praise to participate in our choir. We have a core choir that rehearses every Thursday evening at 7pm. Our core choir provides the nucleus of our choral arts offerings at Third. They present a musical offering at all three services on the first Sunday of each month and help to bolster and lead the congregational singing during the 11 o’ clock service each week.
Opt-in Choral singers
Have you always wanted to sing in a choir but are unsure of your singing voice, ability to read music, or availability for rehearsals? Third’s Choir is opening its ranks for people just like you!
You can now sign up for a limited commitment to sing on specific Sundays and events tailored to your needs. We want everyone who loves to sing to have the opportunity to contribute in our worship! If you love to sing, but are busy, we want you to find a few times each year to participate! Take a look at the various upcoming opportunities to join with the core choir for special pieces and the corresponding rehearsals.

Upcoming choral opportunities:
November 3: “In This Very Room” For our first Sunday back in our Sanctuary at 600 Forest, we’ll sing this beloved anthem. This piece has been historically used by our church whenever there’s been a change of location for our worship (when our ceiling fell, when we moved to Regency, etc.) We’ll declare together that Jesus is in fact with us in our Sanctuary. “In This Very Room” is a beautiful song, easy to sing, and perfect for new singers. We ask that singers come to at least two of the following rehearsals in room 105 at 600 Forest: October 17, October 24 & October 29. Sign up to sign “In This Very Room.”
December 1: “Lo How a Rose E’re Blooming” This piece is from the 16th Century, set by Michael Praetorius. This will be the first choral music offering for our Advent season. If you would like to join us, plan on attending at least two of the following rehearsals in room 105 at 600 Forest: November 7, 14, 21, & 26. Sign up to sign “Lo How a Rose E’re Blooming.”
December 8: Lessons and Carols: "Carol of Joy” and Various Carols We are overjoyed to bring out beloved Lessons and Carols service back to our sanctuary at 600 Forest on Sunday, December 8 at 4:30pm and 7:30pm.
The choir will open this beloved service with an orchestra accompanied piece by Dan Forrest, “Carol of Joy.” The choir will also lead the congregational carols throughout the service. If you would like to join us, plan on attending our dress rehearsal on Saturday, December 7 from 9-12 and two of the following rehearsals: November 7, 14, 21, 26, & December 5. Sign up to join Lessons & Carols.
December 24, Christmas Eve: “Still, Still, Still.” We will sing Norman Luboff’s beautiful setting of “Still, Still, Still” in the last service of the evening on Christmas Eve. If you would like to join us, plan on attending at least two of the following rehearsals: December 5, 12 & 19. Sign ups open soon.
