Where should I park?
We encourage our guests to turn onto Silverspring Drive and enter Parking Lot B behind our building at 600 Forest Ave. This is the lot closest to the main entrance and playground.
We have a number of other parking lots available:
Parking Lot A is accessed from Forest Avenue and is directly across from the front of Tuckahoe Elementary.
Parking Lot B is behind our building, accessed from Silverspring Drive.
Parking Lot C is the middle lot also accessed from Forest Avenue and is directly across from Lakewood Drive.
Other lots: Our office building lot (500 Forest Avenue) and Tuckahoe Elementary are also open for parking. Please do not park in the Tuckahoe Shopping Center during worship!
Where should I go, once I’ve parked?
We recommend coming through our main entrance at the back of our building, accessed from Silverspring Drive.
Once inside, you can either go to the right toward the Sanctuary for worship, or to the left toward kids’ rooms, coffee, bathrooms, and the Fellowship Hall.
Do you have Sunday school classes for adults?
Yes! They rotate on a 6-week block basis, so be sure to check out our Sunday School page for the latest offerings!
What should I wear to Sunday services?
Dress in whatever is most comfortable to you. While some will be in coat-and-tie or dresses, others will be dressed in jeans or something more casual.
When does Communion happen?
We celebrate Communion together as a congregation on the first Sunday of the month. All who acknowledge their need for the grace of Christ are welcome to participate.
How will I fit in at Third?
We are a multi-generational church desiring to create a hospitable place of belonging for every type of person. We hope that this is a place-- regardless of your economic status, race, marital status-- that you can encounter God, build community, and take part in God's great work of renewing all things.
Where do I go with my kids?
It depends! We have nursery care for kids kindergarten and younger during both 8:15 and 11:00 a.m. services. Then, concurrent with our 9:30 service, we have Sunday school for all kids (through high school!). For the full list of room locations and more details, check out our Sunday Morning Family Ministry page.
Also, please know that we always encourage families to bring their children into worship so they can learn about worship by participating in it. We know that they will need to practice to get the hang of it — that’s part of the process. Feel free to bring coloring books or other fidgets that help them acclimate!
What are your services like?
Our worship services bring together music and liturgical resources from our Reformed heritage as well as contemporary worship practices. Musically, you can expect a combination of praise songs and hymns, led by instruments ranging from guitar to organ to mandolin to cello to accordion.
