Join us for the fall retreat!
As we move back into our Forest Avenue church home, we will spend this weekend together exploring the question, “Now that the building is finished, what is Jesus building through us and our church—in our hearts, families, neighborhoods and beyond?”. We will worship, hear from a gifted speaker, pray, eat together, play, and enjoy the beautiful setting and activities that Shrine Mont has to offer! Childcare will be provided during the worship and teaching sessions. Student programming will be available during most of the worship and teaching sessions.
Details on the Retreat:
DATE: Oct. 25-27 (Friday evening through Sunday midday)
LOCATION: Shrine Mont, 2.5-3 hours from Richmond
COST: Registration cost will be $295 for a single room, $250 per person for a double room (married couples or individuals aged 13 and older sharing a room), and $135 for a youth from 4-12 years of age. Children 0-3 are free. These rates do not include tax.
Because we believe this retreat should be more affordable, our church has worked hard to offer significant discounts for our families for this year’s retreat. There will be an $800 cap on the cost of the retreat for any single registration. In addition, all registrations with a total pre-tax cost of over $500 will receive a 20% discount on their registration, including those who meet the $800 cap. These discounts will be deducted at check out. We hope this makes it easier to attend!
The full cost of the weekend will be required at registration. If you are unable to attend for any reason, the amount you have paid will be refundable until September 13, 2024.
Scholarship options are available. We encourage you to email Rachel Burton for more information.
FOOD/DRINK: All food and drink will be included with fees.
TRANSPORTATION: Will be on your own (no rental vans or buses)
LODGING: The retreat center has several different housing options including a hotel, small cottages, and bunk cabins. These accommodations are charming, clean, and a bit rustic. There will be options for singles to stay with friends and families to stay together. Housing is assigned to registrants based on needs expressed during registration.
CHILDCARE: Given this is a lay-led retreat with limited resources, we are asking everyone to pitch in! If you have a child 0-12, one parent from each family will be asked to sign up to serve in a one hour childcare slot at check out.
GENERAL ITINERARY: The itinerary will be centered around being drawn to Jesus and together as a Third Church family! We will hear from a gifted speaker, have bonfires, worship, play kickball, exercise (if you want), pray, eat together, play, and soak in the fall beauty in the mountains! Childcare and student programs will also be provided.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: This retreat is lay-led by a team of volunteers. Are you looking to get more plugged in to Third Church? The retreat planning committee is a great way to get to know others and serve our church community. If you would like to join the planning committee to support hospitality, logistics, or childcare, please email Ashley Tuite. Planning committee volunteers are guaranteed a registration spot, if you volunteer before registration!
