Steve & Janice Quakenbush

We serve in the cause of Bible translation–so everyone can have access to God’s Word in a language that speaks to their minds and hearts. We’ve done that from many different positions over the years–from language surveyor and then linguist/translator in a village, to instructor/trainer/scholar/researcher/writer, to organizational administrator over various efforts in the Philippines, Asia, and globally.

My (Steve’s) most recent role has been in connecting Bible translation and Scripture engagement with the needs and opportunities of dispersed language communities or “diaspora.” The most rewarding assignment I’ve had in recent memory has been helping arrange for Bible-based Trauma Healing training to take place in Dzaleka Refugee Camp of Malawi–and then seeing some of the fruit of those efforts. My next assignment, beginning July 2022, will be focused on the spiritual vitality of our organization of over 4,000 individuals.
