Dr. Scott & JoAnn Armistead
Christian Medical and Dental Association
The Armisteads began their missionary ministry serving in a hospital in the Muslim country of Pakistan in 1999. They served the Lord there for 11 years with Dr. Scott as a physician on the staff of Bach Christian Hospital while his wife JoAnn taught missionary children at Murree Christian School. It is not currently possible for them to continue ministry in Pakistan so they have relocated to Richmond for the present. Their heart is still beating for the Muslims, which can be seen as they reach out to the Muslims in the Richmond area.
One means of outreach has come through Dr. Scott’s role as director for the Christian Medical and Dental Association, relating to students at the VCU Medical Center. He holds weekly meetings for students, providing mentorship and Bible studies as well as organizing group meetings and conferences geared toward futures in medical missions. He accompanied and taught students in hospital settings in Ghana in 2017 and will take a team to Zimbabwe in 2018. JoAnn has begun teaching English to students in China and Taiwan over the internet, desiring to impact them for the kingdom of God.
The Armisteads have three sons: Jared, Seth, and Noah.
