Al Massira
Sharing the Gospel through media
Al Massira means “the journey,” in Arabic. Through a thirteen-session, film-based course, Al Massira takes Arab and Muslim background participants on a journey through the stories of the Bible. Since Al Massira was released in 2011, it has been translated into 35+ languages. More than 15,000 people have been trained to lead groups in over 70 nations, and it is estimated that over 40,000 people have participated in the groups. Through these courses, many people have also come to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
“It is always very encouraging to hear the stories of people coming to faith. I also really enjoy mentoring team leaders in different countries to become fruitful in their own contexts.”

Third at work: Third Church financially supports the ministry of Al Massira. We also gave towards the App Development Project that has enabled Al Massira to develop two distinct apps that will aid and accelerate the distribution of the Al Massira resource. These apps will likely become the primary way in which the resources will be distributed in the future.
God at work: Rachel* lives in a refugee camp. When she was first invited to participate in a local Al Massira group she had no interest, but the team felt led to pray for Rachel every day. Eventually, Rachel changed her mind and came to a group session. From the very first day, she watched the films closely and asked deep questions. During the eighth session, focused on the crucifixion of Jesus, Rachel told the group, “Now I understand why we need Christ. He is the only way to salvation!” At the conclusion of the Al Massira course, Rachel accepted Jesus Christ as her savior and was baptized.

Act now through prayer
Pray that God would give wisdom to the translation teams who are working on translations of Al Massira, for the testing phase of apps, and for new believers to be discipled as they grow in faith beyond the sessions.
