Youth Testimony Night!
The Apostle Paul told Timothy, "Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity." (1 Timothy 4:12) Tuesday evening, eleven 9th-grade students gave their testimonies before a crowd of family, friends, mentors, and Third's Session and pastors, describing how God has been working in their hearts and minds to draw them closer to Jesus and send them into the work on His behalf.
Part of the confirmation process through which our students come into the church as members, testimony night is the culmination of a period of preparation for a new level of commitment to Christ and his church at Third that includes a weekend retreat and individual meetings with mentors who help each student understand their paths so far, and discern where God would have them go as they move ahead. Be on the look-out for these young believers this Sunday as we vote as a congregation to officially welcome them into fellowship and service at Third:
