It's Election Day: Please Vote!

Is there a relationship between following Jesus and voting in today's election?  Believers from the Apostle Paul to Augustine to the the present day have argued that Christians hold "dual citizenship" in the Kingdom of God and in the earthly nations where we live now.  And as Chuck Colson argued in this essay republished today, participating in our own governance is one of the most basic and important ways we can be faithful citizens now, while we await the return of Christ and the fulfillment of His Kingdom.  Whatever our individual political philosophies or socio-economic situations, we are all called to work for the shalom of our community by exercising our basic right to vote today!
