Holy Week 2023

Join us during Holy Week: April 2–9

Encounter grace with us through our worshiping journey. Join us to experience Jesus's triumphal entry into Jerusalem, through his judgement, suffering and crucifixion and ultimately to his triumph over the grave. To help you prepare for this week, we encourage you to listen to this podcast episode from a few years ago which explores what this week has meant for Christians throughout the ages, and what it could mean for us this year.

Palm Sunday: A Service of Palms and Passion

Sunday, April 2
Services at 8:45 and 11 a.m.
Regency Worship Space

Together, we'll wave palms in the opening of our service and responsively read through the entire Passion of Jesus from his entry into Jerusalem to his grave. This special service is a new way we're approaching Palm Sunday, and will help set the tone for us to enter into Holy Week as a community.

Maundy Thursday: A Communion Service in the Round

Thursday, April 6, 7:30 p.m.
Regency Worship Space

Our Maundy Thursday service will be an opportunity for us to observe our collective identity around the communion table as we remember Jesus sharing the Last Supper with his disciples knowing that he would be betrayed and ultimately killed.

We will be rearranging our Sanctuary space to set this service in the round with the Communion Table at the center and will feature lots of opportunities to sing together. Come share in the gifts of God for the people of God.

Good Friday: Art Installation and Prayer

Friday, April 7, 3:00 – 7:00 p.m.
First Floor Gathering Space

The first floor of our Regency space will be open with an installation of artist Scott Erickson's "Seven Last Sayings of Jesus on the Cross" available for viewing and meditation. Our first floor gathering space will be open for all to come, contemplate Jesus's crucifixion, and receive prayer.

Easter Sunday

Sunday, April 9
Services at 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00 a.m.
Regency Worship Space

All of our faith and all of our hope rests on this: the Resurrection. Join us in the celebration on Easter Sunday, for the Lamb has conquered death, triumphed over evil, and reigns in victory! This is the good news and we are invited in to this joy together.

We will also celebrate the morning in Regency with donuts and coffee in the main first floor corridor! Come and celebrate with us!

We do expect the 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. services to be very full, so please plan to come early or consider attending the 8:00 a.m. service.

We will not have any Sunday school classes (for children or adults) on Easter Sunday. However, childcare will still be available for kindergarten and younger during each service.
