Join us for the fall retreat!
For the past three years, several hundred of our people have loaded their cars and headed to Shrine Mont for a weekend of worship, teaching, prayer, eating, playing, and soaking in the beauty of the Virginia mountains in the fall. Please join us for the fourth annual Fall Retreat! As we have each year, we will explore a theme around togetherness. We will hear from a gifted speaker and worship. We will also have a lot of time for play and rest.
Programming for children fourth grade and younger will be provided during the worship and teaching sessions.
Youth programming will be available during most of the worship and teaching sessions.
Spots are limited so please register as described below!
Details on the Retreat:
DATE: Oct. 24-26 (Friday evening through Sunday midday). It is important to note that you will need to leave Richmond, Virginia by mid-afternoon to arrive by dinner time.
LOCATION: Shrine Mont, 2.5-3 hours from Richmond
COST: Registration cost will be $325 for a private single room, $273 per person for a shared space (couples, roommates or family members over age 12), and $144 for youth between 4-12 years of age. Children 0-3 are free. These rates include tax.
Just like last year, our church has worked hard to offer significant discounts for our families for the retreat. There will be an $850 cap on the cost of the retreat for any single registration. In addition, all registrations with a total cost of over $550 will receive a 20% discount on their registration, including those who meet the $850 cap. These discounts will be deducted at check out.
The full cost of the weekend is required at registration. If you are unable to attend for any reason, the amount you have paid will be refundable until September 12, 2025.
Please do not let cost hinder you. Scholarship options are available. We encourage you to email Rachel Burton for more information.
REGISTRATION: Registration will open on Tuesday, May 6 at 10:00am. The link for registration will be in the Third Weekly email and will also be posted at the top of this page. Please access the link promptly at 10:00am and register as slots have sold out quickly in the past.
FOOD/DRINK: All food and drink will be included with fees.
TRANSPORTATION: Will be on your own (no rental vans or buses). It is important to note that you will need to leave Richmond, Virginia by mid-afternoon to arrive by dinner time.
LODGING: The retreat center has several different housing options including a hotel, small cottages, and bunk cabins. These accommodations are charming, clean, and rustic. There are options for singles to stay with friends and families to stay together. Housing is assigned to registrants based on needs expressed during registration.
GENERAL ITINERARY: The itinerary will be centered around being drawn to Jesus and together as a Third Church family. We will have three large group sessions where we will worship, hear testimonies and teaching, and pray. On Saturday afternoon, you will have the freedom to go at your own pace. There will be activities for a range of ages and abilities or you can sit on the porch and catch up with a friend. The evening entertainment promises to be upbeat and fun as it has been in years past. Finally, the nights will come to an end with a roaring bonfire, if the weather permits.
CHILDREN’S PROGRAMMING: Childcare (ages 0-2), children’s programming (ages 3-4), student programming (K-4th) and youth programming (5th-12th) will be provided during the worship and teaching sessions. Given this is a lay-led retreat with limited resources, we are asking everyone to pitch in! If you have a child 0-12, one parent from each family will be asked to sign up to serve in a children’s programming slot as you register.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: This retreat is led by a team of volunteers. We could use help to support hospitality, logistics, or children/youth program teams. Additionally, if you have any skills you would like to share as one of our afternoon activities, please let us know! Please email Ashley Tuite. if you are interested in volunteering.
Register at 10 AM on Tuesday, May 6!
