Beth Sprinkle
Associate Director of Parish Life
Describe your primary responsibilities at Third: I focus on Parish Groups, supporting existing groups and their leaders with encouragement and training, building new groups with recruitment and development, and connecting everyone with groups within their Parish Areas.
What are your favorite books?
Braiding Sweetgrass, Robin Wall Kimmerer
In the Likeness of God, Dr. Paul Brand and Philip Yancey
A Praying Life, Paul Miller
Ordinary Grace, William Kent Krueger
What is your favorite thing about Richmond? The Richmond Folk Festival and the James River !!! I love to paddleboard and hike the Buttermilk Trail.
Tell us about your family: My husband Mark and I have loved raising our 3 sons - Callaway (Chancy), McKinley (Erica), and Calder - in Richmond along the dynamic James River for 32 years. We helped to plant Hope Church and their children’s ministry and have worshiped and served at Third for 17 years. I’ve taught English, History, and the Bible to kids of all ages - high school to preschoolers - in public, private, and alternative schools and churches. I love to read, throw clay on a wheel, and eat Mark’s crazy mushroom cuisines.
Why are you excited to be a part of Third Church? I’m excited about how God is growing our community in intimacy and dependence on Him and the welcoming role parish groups play in creating a place for people to belong, to become more like Jesus, and to join Him in the work He is already doing in our neighborhoods and city.
